After interviewing three builders, it was a easy decision to engage Steve Haycock Construction to build our house at Omaha. Steve and his foreman, Mike Ingham, were great to deal with. There was a lot of consultation. They were pleasant, courteous and always willing to take time to talk through any aspect of the build. No problem was too big or small to deal with. There were some complex details in our house and not only were they eager to take on the challenges, they delivered an outstanding result. Steve is highly organised with strong project management skills. Steve project managed the build with our architect, Matt Fitzgerald of Ponting Fitzgerald. They were both professional and respectful of each other. When problems arose during the building process (as inevitably happens) they worked collaboratively to offer up the best solutions or options to deal with issues. Steve provided a timeline for the build prior to starting. Apart from a delay that was beyond his control, it was remarkably accurate. The timeline was a useful tool for us to moderate our expectations and give us an idea of the stages of the building process. We have ended up with a beautiful house that has been built with great care by builders who take pride in their workmanship. We were pleasantly surprised at the end of the build to realise what a relatively stress-free process it had been. We highly recommend Steve Haycock Construction to anyone planning to build in the Rodney area.

Steve Haycock and his team deserve the recognition for the Gold Award received for the quality of construction and finish detail for our beach house at Omaha. They also deserve an award from us as first time home builders for the whole experience. Through ground breaking, design changes and creative modifications on the fly to follow up post construction the whole journey has been an absolute pleasure. Nothing was ever a problem, we were kept up to date and even the Architects commented how positive the relationship was with Steve and his team. We are proud to let Steve show our/his finished product to prospective clients as a thank you and reflection of the outstanding work he created for us.

The remodelling of our 20 year old family bach took nearly a year to complete yet it was a positive and stress free experience thanks to the professionalism of Steve Haycock and foreman Phil Isted. Their depth of building knowledge, quality of workmanship and excellent communication were the key factors. I knew they always had my best interests at heart whether it was adjusting the plans to gain better views or changing materials to keep costs down. There were many decisions to make and Steve would say "this is what I would do if this was my place". That made it easy. Steve, Phil and their teams expertise and attention to detail are evident in every aspect of our house and contribute hugely to our enjoyment of living here.

When we embarked on building our new beach house it was with some trepidation. Whilst we had completed renovations previously, we had never built from scratch and it was a big undertaking.This was going to be our dream home - part of the 10 year plan. We had put hours of our heart and soul into the design and preparation and wanted to know the finished home would meet our expectations. I remember meeting Steve Haycock for the first time at our architects office and one of the first things he said was " I want you to enjoy the building process - seeing your house come to life", and he lived up to those words. Through our own interest we were involved in the build on a regular basis attending site meetings and involved in decisions along the way. I was impressed with the way Steve and Mike (the foreman) interacted with us and our architects, making practical recommendations along the way. When on site we observed the way the team worked together and took pride in their work. Steve and Mike's attention to detail was outstanding. We felt they treated it as their house - not just a job. It was reassuring to be kept informed on progress and costs along the way and we always felt under control. At the end of the day we are absolutely happy with the house . Steve delivered the finished house exactly how we had imagined - our dream fulfilled.
